About Corps Together

Welcome to our Corps Together Equality, Diversity & Inclusion page.

As we approach our very first year, since the successful launch of Corps Together on October 1st, 2020.

Guided by a group of passionate individuals called Guardians, Corps Together is an EDI body that unites our people, giving them a voice and a safe space to share their thoughts, whilst being a pilar for change and advocacy throughout the organisation.

As an EDI body, we are inspired by the voices of our colleagues, and more specifically, of the multitude of voices that are contained within our sites and teams.

Why Corps Together

The origin and intentionality behind our name, “Corps Together”, was simply to bring people together and to share the experiences and perspectives of our colleagues across the Corps Security community.

Our objective at Corps Security is for our colleagues to embrace all dimensions of ED&I, and to make the organisation a welcoming environment in which to work, network, and to prepare both our leaders, and future leaders to better serve the needs of our diverse community. We purposefully and intentionally practice inclusive excellence, creating safe spaces where colleagues, no matter how they identify, or celebrate their uniqueness, will always have an opportunity to be heard, supported, and valued as a member of our family.

The Journey So Far…

Since our launch, Corps Security have embarked on a journey to raise awareness and presence within ED&I. This started with a full suite of training, successfully delivered to our entire company for, our day-to-day operators, back of office and Board level colleagues. This then very quickly ensured our Colleagues had access and completed the Securing Excellence Platform Module: Exploring Equality & Diversity, where we are proud to boast of a national completion of 75%.

Every year, we celebrate key EDI awareness dates, through campaigns and events, which have been identified and clearly communicated within our Corps Communications Calendar, available on Corps Connect for all our colleagues. Successful campaigns to date, have included LGBTQ History Month, Pride month and celebrating Pride in London, along with celebrating Mental Health Awareness week, and numerous faith celebrations, including Ramadan, Diwali and Hanukkah.

Corps Together ensures this information, along with our advocacy work and the creation of our EDI Staff networks in 2023, is open and fully available to our colleagues.

While we have a diverse community at Corps Security, there is still much work to do. We hope this page will serve as a resource where you will be able to access information on our Guardian team, our staff networks, ED&I business updates, as well as our celebrations and awareness-raising campaigns on key EDI dates.

We look forward to getting to know you and we welcome all new and existing colleagues to our programs, activities, and networks, provided by Corps Together.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Guardians

Equality law within the UK protects us from discrimination on the basis of the 9 ‘protected characteristics’, these include age, sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership, gender reassignment and pregnancy and maternity’.

Our Guardians, a group of passionate individuals who have volunteered to become members of this ED&I taskforce, focus on these particular areas, making sure that everyone feels included whilst working at Corps Security, irrespective of their identity group or background, whilst overseeing the organisations EDI agendas, and helping to drive change.
